GM On-Board Programming
(U.S. ONLY)(BLADED KEYS)

30-Minute Procedure for Programming When No Additional Programmed Keys Are Available

  1. Insert the newly cut master key into the ignition and turn it to the ON (RUN) position. The "Security" indicator light on the dashboard will remain illuminated for 10-11 minutes.

  2. Within 55 seconds after the indicator light turns off, switch the ignition to the "OFF" position, Wait 3 seconds then promptly turn it back to the ON (RUN) position. The indicator light will light up again for another 10-11 minutes. Ensure the key remains in the ignition.

  3. Repeat the process: within 55 seconds after the indicator light turns off again, switch the ignition to the "OFF" position and then back to the ON (RUN) position. The indicator light will illuminate for another 10 minutes. Do not remove the key.

  4. After the indicator light turns off for the third time, turn the ignition to the "OFF" position and then immediately turn it back to the ON position to start the vehicle. The new key is now programmed and will start the car.
